What is personal care CQC?

Interview with Mario Alonso Puig

Vaccinations offer the best protection against the virus for both workers and residents. As of November 11, 2021, all nursing home workers, and anyone entering nursing homes, must be vaccinated.

Vaccination appointments can be booked through the national booking service or by calling 119. You can also go to the thousands of walk-in centers across the country without booking in advance. Find your nearest center.

This guide applies to the regulated activity of nursing homes, i.e. the provision of accommodation and alongside medical and personal care. It has been created to assist with the implementation of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2021 (“The Regulations”). These regulations require persons in all Care Homes registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), who provide both accommodation and medical and personal care, to ensure that no one accesses the inside of the premises unless they have been vaccinated. It is subject to certain exceptions.

The British government’s move will apply to the National Health Service (NHS) in England, as well as in a number of other social care settings regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), such as in senior centers, where their workers must have received the two doses of the coronavirus vaccine by this Thursday.

“The aim is to help them make a positive decision to protect the most vulnerable, to protect their colleagues and, of course, to protect themselves,” stressed the minister, who is confident that the measure will bring down the number of unvaccinated people, as it did when it was imposed for work in senior centers.

Boost your CQC rating with DeskAlerts. If you’re looking to improve your healthcare company’s CQC rating, you’ve come to the right place. Our offering is DeskAlerts. This is an internal communication software solution capable of keeping your entire staff connected at the same time. Thanks to it, you will improve the flow of information in your hospital or healthcare company. This, in turn, will also improve patient outcomes.

We know that the healthcare industry has its own challenges to work with. One of them is the need to ensure proper communication flow. This includes staff working around the clock, in different locations, with different specialties. After all, most of the time, they will not have access to their e-mail or intranet spaces.

DeskAlerts is the solution for this, as it sends pop-up notifications directly to your staff’s computer screens. As a result, you can get rid of the unreliable email system. These notifications are purposefully intrusive and will appear no matter what applications your employees use. In fact, they will appear even if the computer is locked or in screensaver mode.

If you are performing procedures such as laser lipolysis, skin resurfacing, circumcision, breast augmentation or reduction, tummy tuck, facelift, rhinoplasty, or are a private practitioner offering consultation services or medical treatment services (including travel vaccinations), then you will need to register with the Care Quality Commission.

The application process involves completing forms and submitting evidence that will highlight whether your facilities and services can meet the 28 Essential Standards of Quality and Safety. You will need to know what these standards are, what you must do to meet the standards and, if you cannot meet them, what you can do to improve.

You will also need to do things like a CV, professional, medical and financial references and you will need to make sure you have access to the lease, insurance and risk assessments for the property. You will need to ensure that staff records are complete and that key personnel have up to date and properly authorized CRB checks. Still overwhelmed?
